Driven by passion and innovation, Mark then formed a strong relationship with Byrd Mena founder of Sharpfade. Who also shared the same vision for the industry and began developing the SHARPFADE ACADEMY by combining their resources and travelling the world educating. Byrd Mena the founder of SHARPFADE and co founder of SharpFade academy began his dream career in 2011. At which time he started studying to be a barber, by 2013 he was professionally licensed as a barber/cosmetologist. After honing his skills and working in the industry he decided to branch out and create his own company. In 2015 Sharpfade was born. Focused on growing his brand he began to host online barber battles with competitive barbers all over the world competing through social media. Tyrik Jackson is owner and partner of Premier Barber Institute where he progresses his passion for cosmetology and barbering. He is also CEO of Tyrik Jackson International Inc. and sole proprietor of Sharper Image Barber Shops I & II in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As a licensed barber, manager, and instructor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tyrik was the Barbering Supervisor for American Beauty Academy Lancaster Campus, where he created the curriculum at its inception in 2011. Tyrik began there as a Barber Instructor and was promoted to Program Supervisor. He later began as Director of Education for American Beauty Academy Wilmington Campus and progressed to Campus Director, all within one year.
From 2007–2008, Tyrik traveled the country as a Platform Artist working various Trade Shows (such as IBS, IHS, Premier Orlando, and Bronner Bros.) teaching barbers and stylists the ‘tricks of the trade’ and creating a conduit between Cosmetology and Barbering. He also helped them to prepare for competitions and improve their businesses. In 2007, he was presented with the Colorist of the Year award during the Miss Clairol segment at the Golden Scissors Awards.
Tyrik was the winner of the renowned 2006 Bronner Brothers Barber Battle inAtlanta, Georgia. An audience of more than 22,000 spectators watched on August 6, 2006 as Tyrik was awarded $25,000 and given the name X-Factor.
In 2006, Tyrik was also recognized for a high-energy performance during Hair-Topia, a two-day celebration of black hair, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where local stylists and barbers staged dramatic runway presentations showcasing avant-garde coiffures – some of which were actually created on stage.
Tyrik won eight competitions from 2006–2007, including three Glynn Jackson Golden Scissor Awards.
In 1995, Tyrik received his diploma from J.P. McCaskey High School in the School District of Lancaster. He attended the Lancaster School of Cosmetology in 1996 and has since become a member of Hair International. Tyrik has served as a volunteer for the J.P. McCaskey High School Cosmetology Department and the Urban League of Lancaster County. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the James Street Improvement District in Lancaster City.
His community service has included his involvement in the 2005 Achievement Matters, Don’t Waste Your Mind Awards event, hosted by the Urban League of Lancaster County. From securing the location to coordinating speakers and presenters, he heavily contributed to the overall flow and success of this event. Tyrik has been a strong advocate of community outreach programs for young people and has served as a Youth Leader and Minister for a local Christian organization. Tyrik has continued to influence local youth through his motivational speeches.
Tyrik resides in Lancaster with his wife Nicole and three children, Ajanai, Zuri, and Ari.
Andy Mendoza @AndyAuthentic is a Barber out of the South End of Waterbury, CT.
He is known for detailed hair designs and a versatile touch on all hair types.
He picked up his 1st pair of clippers in 99′ and began cutting friends and family in the neighborhood.

Edward Asuncion is an LA native who started off at a young age as a self taught barber. He began cutting out of his backpack whenever and wherever he could. Now as a precision and cutting specialist, with both a Vidal Sassoon background and Classic Barbering training, Edward has propelled himself to be able to work on Print, Video, and commercial campaigns cutting and styling. Stell, a.k.a stellthetalent, has been in the hair industry for 17 years. He originally trained as a hairdresser and quickly moved onto barbering once he recognized his passion and talent for it. He is also a professional educator, holding a VCTC assessors award for barbering and shaving at a level 2 and 3 standard. Harry Karolis is the founding director of Ego Barbers, Cockfosters. He has been in the hair industry for 21 years. He has trained under names such as Joshua Galvin, and has been lucky enough to collaborate with some of the industries greats. He opened the doors of Ego’s in 2012 and since then the shop has become a very well-known and respected barbers worldwide. Alan Beak is 1 of 2 brothers taking the barbering world by storm! Starting from the early age of 12 Alan fell in love with the industry and began to cut and style hair as a hobby. After successful stints in their New York & Washington D.C salons, Sid took a break from his Sassoon career to teach for hair brand Fudge in Philadelphia. Sid then returned to the New York salon as a member of the creative team & rose to Assistant Creative Director. As a member of the creative team he collaborated on editorial work and maintained a celebrity client base. Sid also worked backstage at revered international fashion shows including crafting hair for Joseph Abboud’s Men’s Collection at New York Fashion Week.
On the back of a decorated career in Sassoon salons, Sid graduated to their academies as an educator teaching both hairdressing & barbering. Sid’s first stop was the Santa Monica Academy where as part of the educational team he crafted hair for television as well as teaching at international hair shows as far afield as China. Sid then made the trip across the Atlantic to teach in Mayfair, London; first at the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy followed by the Davie Mew’s Academy.
After parting ways with Sassoon, Sid pursued an exciting freelance career guesting & teaching in exclusive salons & barbershops. He was also proudly a member of the hair team working on the 2005 blockbuster Pride & Prejudice. Having trained educators & written curriculums for other academies, Sid felt now was the correct time to open his very own academy.
Born in Hawaii and raised in New York, Ty Littlejohn is a self taught barber, videographer and photographer. Despite only being involved in the industry for a couple years he’s managed to work with some of the biggest names in the barbering world. With the hair industry quickly evolving he aims to add something unique to its conception.
